Formosa lily (L. formosanum Wallace). Native to the mountains of Formosa (Taiwan). Grows up to 100-120 cm tall. Flowers white. The flowers are tubular, greenish on the inner side, tubular on the outer side, with a pleasant scent. Leaves are linear, lanceolate on the lower part of the stem. Onions rounded or oval. Overwinters well covered. If artificially pollinated, it will set and ripen seeds if transplanted into pots before frost and kept in a warm, light room (preferably a greenhouse). When propagated by seed, it takes 11 months to flower.
